Simply Do Ideas has partnered with the educational charity Techniquest, to help find creative solutions to engage more people with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

Simply Do Ideas has partnered with the educational charity Techniquest this month, to help find creative solutions to engage more people with STEM.We’re hoping to use our platform to collate ideas from people across Wales, from all walks of life, which can help Techniquest inspire future generations of scientists and innovators.

Techniquest’s mission is to embed science in Welsh culture through interactive engagement. They aim to make science fun and accessible for all ages. As well as offering the Techniquest experience at their science discovery centre in Cardiff Bay, they operate a pioneering programme of educational outreach for schools and communities across Wales.

Abe Sampson, Fundraising Officer, Techniquest said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Simply Do Ideas and be a part of the Wales Festival of Innovation this year. This Wales-wide event is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase local thought-leaders and emerging innovators, and Simply Do Ideas is the perfect platform to help capture their input.”

Lee Sharma, CEO, Simply Do Ideas, said: “We are very excited to be taking part in the Festival and eager to unlock the great ideas our nation has. These could provide a solution to the educational challenges Wales faces and deliver massive social impact now and for future generations.

“I’d encourage any person who has ever shown an interest in education or STEM to sign up and have a close look at the challenge. A fresh pair of eyes brings a new perspective and experience - your ideas could change the way things are done.”

Simply Do Ideas’ Social Impact innovation challenge is set to run as part of the Wales Festival of Innovation, a fortnight-long celebration of discovery and invention, which will see a host of interactive events take place across the country.

The Wales Festival of Innovation is led by the ESTnet (the technology network for Wales) and the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) with the support of industry partners and Welsh Government.

Festival spokesperson Idris Price, who is also a director of ESTnet (the technology network for Wales), said: “The Festival of Innovation returns with a clear goal to build on the unprecedented successes of 2017, to champion the unique culture of innovation that exists in every region in Wales. With the fantastic support of innovators like Simply Do Ideas and Techniquest we are certain to achieve our goals.
